After School Care
The Ravenswood After School Care Centre offers a safe, caring and enjoyable environment for girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Centre is open from the end of the school day, when girls are collected from the Junior School, until 6.00pm.
The Centre aims to provide the children with a happy and creative environment. To enable all of the children to have their interests catered for, we provide indoor and outdoor activities such as craft, art, dress-up area, cooking activities, playing with equipment outdoors as well as quiet activities such as reading.
The girls are cared for everyday by two staff members. At times we are also fortunate to have the assistance of a senior Ravenswood student who assists in our cottage location as a part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award.
At Ravenswood After School Care Centre we also support the various opportunities for the girls to participate in extra curricular activities. During the afternoon we provide the girls with assistance to get to their activities in the school such as Gym, Swimming, Dance, and Tennis etc. The girl’s family communicates these arrangements to the Centre at the beginning of each term.
The schedule of the afternoon runs as follows:
3.00pm to 3.30pm Staff collect students from the K-6 courtyard and return to the Centre
3.30pm to 4.00pm Afternoon Tea (provided by the Centre)
3.45pm to 6.00pm Structured and free play activities and homework supervision
Staff provide supervision of homework however the staff are not responsible for ensuring its completion.
