Our Houses

The House System which commenced in 1930 is a proud tradition of the Ravenswood Community. It harnesses a sense of enthusiasm and excitement.
Initially there were two Houses – Stuart and Tudor.

Windsor House (1944) and York House (1967) were established respectively as enrolments increased and an extra year of senior school was added.

The original House sporting competition system has now expanded with the inclusion of Choral and Dance festivals, debating competitions and community service projects. To create a feeling of belonging and spirit, every new student is asked if she has a relative who has been in one of the Houses. Old Girls keenly encourage their relatives to join ‘their’ House maintaining family traditions and House spirit.
