ROGU is an integral part of the school community with specific aims that bring benefits to its members, the students and the school as a whole. The Old Girls’ Union encourages a close relationship between Old Girls and the school. This has included ROGU participation in a wide range of development projects, provision of an annual Old Girls’ Union Scholarship (awarded to the daughter/granddaughter of an Old Girl), mentoring and a continuing influence in the life of the school. One past student from the Old Girls’ Union is appointed biennially as a member of the School Council.
Enrolment of a fourth generation girl from a Ravenswood family is becoming more and more frequent!
Over one hundred years of educating girls at Ravenswood has led to an extensive ‘Old Girls’ network and each year groups come together for reunions, renewing and enjoying lifelong friendships. Old Girls are important to today’s students and to the school community. They bring an unmistakable sense of history, ever eager to share amusing and treasured memories of their time at Ravenswood ... and that is not all they bring!
The elegant blue enamel and gold ‘hat’ pin lapel ROGU badge is proudly worn by many of its members and symbolizes the enduring tie that members of ROGU have with the school.
