Our commitment to offering a multifaceted education with a global focus has been strongly showcased over the past week, with the exciting arrival of 25 global exchange students from some of the finest schools in Canada, England, France, Germany, New Zealand, and the USA to share in the Ravenswood experience, and spend time with their host sisters and families. It has been so wonderful meeting these students, seeing them become so integrated in our own community and also walking through our gates each morning and seeing a range of international flags (representing each of our exchange students’ home countries) waving proudly along the deck, as a reminder of the valuable learning and lifelong friendships unfolding across the school. Our exchange program is a potentially powerful way to promote greater cultural understanding. Of course, as this is a reciprocal program, our girls also travel to spend time in their exchange students’ homes, absorbing their cultures and school systems, which is another exciting feature of the experience. Ravenswood has a particularly broad-ranging exchange program for an educational institution of its size; it is just one of the reasons that we can claim to be a truly global school.
