Jeans for Genes Day 2014 Participants

Friday 7 August is Jeans for Genes Day this year. Jeans for Genes directly supports the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI), whose work is carried out with the single aim of improving and extending the lives of children. Currently, one in 20 children is born with a congenital abnormality or genetic disease. That’s over 12,000 children born in Australia each year with a problem. CMRI is dedicated to changing that.

Medical research is the only way to discover cures for conditions affecting children such as cancer, epilepsy and a range of genetic defects. CMRI’s vital work relies on community support.

Look out for the Ravenswood students who will be at Gordon train station next Friday from around 7.15am-8.45am selling Jeans for Genes merchandise.

All students will be allowed to wear denim jeans and mufti to school on this day by donating $2 to this worthy cause (which will be collected in class). The usual mufti school rules apply.
