Congratulations to Jacqueline, Year 12, who was named World Champion Persuasive Speaker at the 30th World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships held at Ravenswood between 7-13 April. Congratulations also to Isabella and Laura, Year 12, who came 15th and 16th overall respectively. Jacqueline was placed 18th overall.

The contest attracted exceptional competitors from Canada, China, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Lithuania, South Africa, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States. It was exciting to see so many Australians in the Finals. Jacqueline and Isabella reached the Final in the Persuasive Speaking section, Jacqueline and Laura were Finalists in the Impromptu Speaking section and Laura was a Finalist in Interpretative Reading.
