Ravenswood Showcased in Jubilee Commemorative Album

Ravenswood School for Girls is honoured to have been selected to feature in the official book of the Queen’s 70th anniversary, Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album. This exclusive publication will chart the trials and triumphs of The Queen’s 70-year reign and explore the developments that have taken place in the UK and around the world over the past seven decades.

Ravenswood has been chosen to contribute to the Album due to our transformational contribution to girls’ education. Our editorial feature will shine a light on our conviction in the inextricable link between academic success and wellbeing. Also highlighted will be the internationally-recognised work of Principal Mrs Anne Johnstone, as the Vice-Chair of the International Positive Education Network (IPEN) and the Chair of the national Positive Education Schools Association (PESA).

As the first Visible Wellbeing School in New South Wales and recipient of multiple awards for our work in the area of Positive Education, Ravenswood is a lighthouse school, committed to contributing to the wellbeing, not only of our own students but of young people throughout Australia.

In addition to being an editorial contributor to the Album, Ravenswood Principal Anne Johnstone, has been invited to attend the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. ‘I am excited to represent Ravenswood at this wonderful celebration of The Queen’s lifetime of leadership and steadfast presence during the Second World War through to her unifying influence during our present turbulent times,’ Mrs Johnstone said.

The Ravenswood feature is being supported by the Album’s editorial team, including renowned best-selling authors and royal correspondents Robert Jobson and Katie Nicholl. Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album is available to purchase online and in all good book retailers. It is available at stjamess.org.

A Jubilee display has also been set up in our School’s library entrance (in the Learning Resources Centre) for students’ viewing, with the Commemorative book to be included in our library collection shortly.
