Scholarships
Registrations for 2014 scholarships are now closed.
Ravenswood participates in the ACER Co-operative Scholarship Scheme requiring applicants to register with ACER and sit the ACER examination as a part of the scholarship selection process.
Scholarships, covering both full and part tuition fees, are offered to encourage and acknowledge students in academic excellence.
Students may apply for Scholarships for entry into Year 7 and Year 11 whilst they are in Year 6 and Year 10 respectively, in the year prior to entry.

Academic Scholarship
Eligibility is as follows:
- Applicants must sit the ACER test.
Music Scholarship
Eligibility is as follows:
- Applicants must sit the ACER test.
- Applicants must attend a Music audition having prepared two contrasting pieces (of four minutes duration each) and one piece on their second instrument (if applicable).
- Applicants will also be asked to complete the following: sight read a short passage on their first instrument and sight sing a short passage.
- A short interview with the audition panel.
- Applicants for a Year 7 music scholarship must have a minimum of AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent for piano/strings, or AMEB Grade 3 or equivalent for woodwind/brass.
- Applicants for a Year 11 music scholarship must have a minimum of AMEB Grade 7 for piano/strings or AMEB Grade 6 for woodwind/brass.
Kim Buchan All Rounder Scholarship for a student entering Year 7
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates all round commitment and ability. This is awarded at the discretion of the Principal and is offered as full tuition.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must sit for the Academic Scholarship Examination.
- The applicant may be an existing enrolment or to commence in Year 7 in 2014.
- Applicants must prepare their application outlining interests and achievements and forward it to Ms Nataleigh Green, Enrolments, Ravenswood, Henry Street, GORDON NSW 2072 or ngreen@ravenswood.nsw.edu.au.
The application must include:
(i) a handwritten covering letter outlining why the applicant thinks she should be considered for the scholarship. The letter should be no longer than one A4 page
(ii) the applicant’s Semester 2 2012 report
(iii) a letter of support from one current teacher of the applicant
(iv) a short resumé (3 pages maximum) outlining the applicant’s achievements in the last two years.
The Margaret Donaldson Scholarship for a student entering Year 11
This scholarship for an All-Round Student is a part scholarship for a student entering Year 11. Girls wishing to be considered for this scholarship must prepare their own Curriculum Vitae outlining interests and achievements and forward it to Ms Nataleigh Green, Enrolments, Ravenswood, Henry Street, GORDON NSW 2072 or ngreen@ravenswood.nsw.edu.au.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must sit for the Academic Scholarship Examination.
- The applicant may be an existing enrolment or to commence in Year 11 in 2014.
The application must include:
(i) a handwritten covering letter outlining why the applicant thinks she should be considered for the scholarship. The letter should be no longer than one A4 page
(ii) the applicant’s Semester 2 2012 report
(iii) a short resumé (3 pages maximum) outlining the applicant’s achievements in the last two years.
Value: Year 11 – $8000, Year 12 – $5000
The Old Girls’ Union Scholarship for a student entering Year 11
Each year the Ravenswood Old Girls’ Union (ROGU) funds a part-scholarship for a student entering Year 11. Its intention is to enable the daughter, granddaughter or great granddaughter of a Ravenswood Old Girl to either commence at Ravenswood or continue with her existing enrolment.
Eligibility:
- This scholarship is available to daughters or granddaughters or great granddaughters of Ravenswood Old Girls entering Year 11 in the year following the application.

Value: Year 11 – $8000, Year 12 – $8000
The Ravenswood Residential College Scholarship
This all-rounder scholarship will be offered to a student currently in Years 9 or 10 who contributes to the life of their school in a number of areas. The scholarship will cover boarding fees in the Ravenswood Residential College in the Senior School (Years 10-12), depending on the year of entry.
The scholarship
• is tenable for a maximum of three years at Ravenswood only;
• provides remission of boarding fees; and
• does not include academic tuition fees, core curriculum charges, curriculum related amounts, or other sundry charges which are payable termly.
Eligibility
• applicants must reside in regional NSW or a regional area of an Australian state or territory;
• applicants may not be currently enrolled at Ravenswood; and
• applicants wishing to be considered for this scholarship must prepare their own application outlining interests and achievements.
Conditions of acceptance
This scholarship is conditional upon the student satisfying all of the following requirements. A scholarship recipient is expected to:
• make satisfactory progress in all areas of the school’s academic curriculum;
• commit herself to her studies;
• contribute actively in the school’s co-curricular programme and to the life of the Senior Residential College and the school; and
• pursue her education at the school through to Year 12.
All scholarship students will have their progress reviewed annually.

• a letter of support from one current teacher of the applicant or the name of a teacher willing to speak on behalf of the applicant; and
• a short resumé (3 pages maximum) outlining the applicant’s achievements in the last two years in her school and local community.
