The Ravenswood Class of 2016 has achieved extremely pleasing results in this year’s Higher School Certificate (HSC).

Out of the 106 Ravenswood students who sat the examinations, eight girls were placed on the HSC All Round Achievers List for obtaining a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4) in 10 or more units of courses.

100% of students who studied Music 1 and Design and Technology achieved a Band 6 (i.e. 90 or above out of 100);

Eight out of 22 students were nominated for ARTEXPRESS, or 36% of the cohort. This is a significant result considering that on average less than 3% of NSW Visual Art students receive a nomination.

Two Ravenswood students were nominated for ENCORE and four were nominated for Shape 2016 for their Design and Technology major works.

Violet Williams came fourth in the state in Hospitality.

All Ravenswood students who studied Chinese Background Speakers, Drama, English as a Second Language, French Continuers and Textiles Technology obtained a result in Band 5 or Band 6 (i.e. 80 or above out of 100);

All of the girls who studied English Extension 1, English Extension 2, History Extension and Mathematics Extension 1 obtained a result in Band E4 or E3 (i.e. 35 or above out of 50);

80% of students scored Band 5 or Band 6 (or E3 or E4) in the following courses: Business Studies, Design and Technology, Drama, English (Advanced), English as a Second Language, English Extension 1, English Extension 2, French Continuers, History Extension, Hospitality, Legal Studies, Mathematics General 2, Modern History, Music 1, Textiles Technology and Visual Arts;

A total of 66 students out of a cohort of 106 were listed on the Distinguished Achievers’ List with 162 mentions between them.
