Years 10 and 11 Latin students visited University of Sydney recently to participate in the annual CANSW Latin Reading Competition, against a large number of other schools. As a result, Thalia, Year 10, has been chosen as a finalist and six other Ravenswood girls were commended. Thalia will be required to prepare a verse passage in advance of the finals on Monday 3 August at University of Sydney. She will also be required to read a prose passage with 15 minutes preparation on the night. The Year 10 Latin class will have the opportunity to perform a group verse item with Thalia.
Once again, Ravenswood competed in the Kevin Lee Latin Quiz, held at Barker College for the first time. Both the Years 9 and 10 teams performed admirably and enthusiastically against strong competition, with the Year 9 team reaching the finals.
