The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is proud to announce this year’s finalists for the country’s highest-value art prize for women. Having received an exceptional 1934 entries across three categories (Professional, Emerging and Indigenous Emerging) and representing artists from every state and territory of Australia, the judges were impressed by the quantity and quality of artwork submitted from the women artists of Australia. Ultimately, the judges have selected 99 artworks to be finalists and exhibited at the two-week Exhibition of Finalists in late June.
The winners of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize will be announced at the Opening Night of the Exhibition of Finalists on Friday 20 June. The total prize pool of $58,000 will be split between the Professional Artist Prize winner ($35,000), Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7500 – supported by The Reed Family Foundation), and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7500 – supported by Guardian and Scarborough Foundation). There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2000 (supported by Edwina Palmer) plus a Derivan art pack valued at $500. New in 2025, six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1000 each (supported by Lindfield & Districts Community Bank) will also be awarded.
Renowned public artist and Ravenswood Alumni Jade Oakley, Patron and one of the judges of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, says, ‘This year, the judging panel was overwhelmed by the high quality of artworks submitted for the Art Prize, making our selection process all the more difficult. As Patron of Australia’s highest-value women’s art prize, I’m extremely proud to see the continued growth and popularity of the Prize, and the opportunities it affords professional, Emerging and Indigenous women artists across the country.’
