At Ravenswood, learning is not limited to the classroom. With more than 100 exciting and diverse co-curricular choices available at Ravenswood for students in Prep to Year 12, girls have extensive opportunities to explore their other passions.
We believe that participating in co-curricular activities complements students’ academic study and maximises their potential.
Co-curricular activities allow each student to pursue her interests, while developing important skills, achieving excellence and mixing with like-minded peers.
From Dance to Languages, and from Visual Arts to STEM, clubs and activities allow the girls’ creative, physical and social talents to flourish. Among the many available are Debating, Public Speaking, Speech, Robotics and Coding, Bake and Create, and Fellowship groups.
Performing Arts
Performing Arts provides extensive and dynamic opportunities for students to be involved in a range of Music, Dance, Drama and Speech classes to showcase their skills and talents.
Sport
Sport is an integral part of the School’s co-curricular program. Ravenswood offers a wide range of sports, providing qualified and specialised coaching and encouraging flexibility, strength development, coordination, spatial awareness, posture and balance. Encompassing sports ranging from swimming to golf, and from tennis to gymnastics, our ‘sport for all’ philosophy at Ravenswood provides opportunities for all girls to participate at all skill levels, promoting both inclusiveness and the physical and mental wellbeing aspects of sport.
Cadets
In 2011, Ravenswood became the first girls’ school on Sydney’s North Shore to offer Cadets to its students from Years 8 to 12. Students join the Knox Grammar Cadet Unit, the largest school cadet unit in the Southern Hemisphere. Today, there are more than 300 Ravenswood students in the almost 1300-strong unit, with several filling senior leadership ranks. Being involved in Cadets encourages service, leadership, teamwork and outdoor skills. Students learn to be confident, self-sufficient and to ‘have a go’ in mentally and physically challenging activities.
Through our extensive range of co-curricular offerings, each student’s creative, physical and social abilities and talents can be nurtured.
This supports every student to reach her potential and develop her talents, skills and confidence, as well as a sense of discipline and teamwork.
