Having established itself as a multi award-winning school over a number of years, Ravenswood School for Girls has once again been recognised with Excellence Awards as part of The Educator’s 2025 Australian Education Awards.
The School’s pioneering and world-class Positive Education framework and wellbeing program has resulted in the School achieving its fourth Excellence Award for Best Student Wellbeing Program in five years (also in 2021, 2022 and 2024). The Ravenswood Residential College (RCC) has also been awarded its third Excellence Award in four years for Boarding School of the Year (also in 2022 and 2024), while the Ravenswood Institute – the School’s innovative profession professional learning program for staff – has been acknowledged for its progressive and edifying Professional Learning Program, receiving an Excellence Award for Best Professional Learning Program.
The Australian Education Awards commended Ravenswood’s Positive Education and Wellbeing program that equips students with wellbeing language, knowledge, skills, and support systems needed to thrive in of school life and beyond. From specialised timetabled curriculum lessons to mentor group sessions, student-led initiatives, tangible wellbeing assets on campus (such as the innovative Wellbeing Path, Sunshine Wall and Wellbeing Gardens), a robust support network including two therapy dogs, as well as the infusion of wellbeing and academic learning intentions across all Key Learning areas, the program ensures that both the explicit and implicit levers of wellbeing are intentional practices across every layer of the School.
Encapsulating Ravenswood’s trailblazing principles of Positive Education and Wellbeing in the RRC has provides an opportunity for boarders to thrive academically and personally in a supportive Ravenswood ‘sisterhood’ environment that encourages self-awareness, promotes self-reflection, and builds a strong framework for effective communication and collaboration. Celebrating 90 years of boarding in 2025, the RRC continues to provide boarders with a home-away-from home with innovative boarding wellbeing programs, facilities and curriculum.
The Ravenswood Institute supports the professional growth of staff, stimulating a culture of continuous improvement and embracing evidence-based practices, while enhancing student learning outcomes – setting the benchmark for professional learning in Australian schools. Fostering a strong environment of educational inquiry, innovation and collaboration, and providing Ravenswood staff with the best professional training and development, has led to the Ravenswood Institute receiving the Excellence Award for Best Professional Learning Program.
