Ravenswood School for Girls has today been announced as one of The Educator’s 5-Star Innovative Schools for 2025.
Following previous Awards (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), The Educator again recognised Ravenswood as an Australian school at the forefront of change and innovation. The Award acknowledges schools that are reshaping the future of education, from innovative teaching approaches to cutting-edge learning spaces and curriculum design.
Specifically, Ravenswood was praised for its student wellbeing initiatives such as the Student-Led Wellbeing Conference (held in partnership with Knox Grammar School) and the newly implemented Years 7-9 Student-Led Wellbeing Conference, which was launched in September 2025.
The School’s pioneering use of technology on campus (such as the mobile phone ‘Away for the Day’ policy and cybersafety initiatives (Linewize and Qustodio), was also a contributing factor in Ravenswood being awarded one of the most innovative schools in Australia.
‘At Ravenswood, innovation goes well beyond the curriculum, new technologies and enrichment programs. We foster a culture of excellence and intellectual rigour, where curiosity and creativity can flourish,’ says Acting Principal Ms Sarah Guy.
‘This award is a testament to the collective work of our Ravenswood community. Our innovative teachers who draw on the latest research to inform their practice; our students who are inspired to embrace learning opportunities with a curious mindset; and our families who support our pioneering work in nurturing students and preparing them for a rapidly changing world.’
Ravenswood has been awarded multiple honours recently, including being named on The Educator’s inaugural 5-Star Best School list in 2025. The School has also received Excellence Awards in The Educator’s Australian Education Awards for Best Student Wellbeing Program in 2025 (as well as in 2021, 2022, 2024), Boarding School of the Year 2025 (as well as in 2022 and 2024), and for Best Professional Learning Program in 2025. Ravenswood also won Best Use of Technology Award at the 2024 Australian Education Awards.
