105 Finalists Announced for the 2026 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize

The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize – celebrating its tenth year in 2026 – is proud to announce this year’s finalists for the country’s highest-value art prize for women. 

Having received an incredible 1750 entries across three categories (Professional, Emerging and Indigenous Emerging) and representing artists from every state and territory of Australia, the judges were impressed by the quantity and quality of artwork submitted from the women artists of Australia. Ultimately, the judges have selected 105 artworks to be finalists and exhibited at the two-week Exhibition of Finalists beginning in May.

The winners of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize will be announced at the Opening Night of the Exhibition of Finalists on Friday 15 May 2026. The total prize pool of $58,000 will be split between the Professional Artist Prize winner ($35,000), Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7500 – supported by The Reed Family Foundation), and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize winner ($7500 – supported by Guardian and Scarborough Foundation). There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2000 (supported by Edwina Palmer) plus a Derivan art pack valued at $500. Six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1000 each (supported by Community Bank Lindfield) will also be awarded.

Renowned public artist and Ravenswood Alumni Jade Oakley (1993), Patron and one of the judges of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, says, ‘The judging panel and I were delighted by the artworks submitted for this year’s art prize. We were impressed by both the quality and quantity of artworks. Now in its tenth year, it is inspiring to see the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize go from strength to strength, and to witness the opportunities it affords Professional, Emerging and Indigenous women artists across the country.’

Tickets to Opening Night are on sale now. The ticket includes exhibition entry and a blend of art and a gastronomic reflection of Trippas White Group featuring native ingredients and local producers with each dish reflecting the richness of our land and the communities we serve. Complementing this will be a selection of wines from TWG’s ‘Women in Wine’ collection.

Artworks will be available for sale online on Opening Night following the winners announcements, and will remain on sale until the end of the Exhibition of Finalists on 31 May 2026.

The Exhibition of Finalists (free entry) following Opening Night will also be open to the public between Thursdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm, from 16 to 31 May 2026. The Exhibition is held in the Centenary Centre at Ravenswood School for Girls, 10 Henry Street, Gordon.


About the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize

The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is an annual acquisitive prize and exhibition supported and hosted by Ravenswood School for Girls. It aims to inspire, promote and connect generations of Australian women artists. Launched in 2017, the Art Prize has grown exponentially and gained significant recognition in the wider community. As a school for girls from Prep to Year 12, Ravenswood was keen to address the poor representation of women artists in exhibitions.
