Communications and Support

Family Support

Ravenswood offers a Boarder Support Program which gives all Boarders the opportunity to get to know the family of a Day Girl. As an example, the Boarder Support Family may invite the Boarder to join the family for meals, drive the Boarder to and from sport or take the Boarder to appointments.

Additionally, the Boarder Support Family is there to support the Boarder family. We often find that students and their families who participate in this program become friends for life.

Two key events are organised during the year for Boarder families to get together. The annual Welcome Boarders’ Barbecue takes place at the start of the year and the Boarders’ Parent Dinner takes place at the start of Term 3.

Visiting the College

Parents are always welcome to visit, dine with the Boarders or take their daughter out for the evening. Parents’ accommodation is located next door to the Ravenswood Residential College (RRC) for a nominal fee.

Boarders’ Leave

Ravenswood maintains a flexible approach to leave, provided it is arranged around sporting and co-curricular commitments. Leave must be arranged in advance in consultation with the Director Boarding and International Students.
