Ravenswood believes that the development of strong leadership skills begins in the early years.
Ravenswood’s Guiding Principles of Respect, Courage, Excellence and Compassion provide positive leadership behaviour in all students.
In K–2, students are encouraged to become responsible organisers and positive role models, with class leadership roles shared to ensure an inclusive culture. In Years 1–2 students have the opportunity to become elected representatives on either the Ravenswood Environmental Protection Agency (REPA) each semester, or on the Student Representative Council (SRC) each year.
In Years 3–6, students are presented with a wide range of leadership opportunities. Each class elects a Class Captain every term, a REPA representative each semester, and an SRC representative each year.
In Year 6, students have the opportunity to take on more complex leadership roles. These include Peer Support, Chapel Tech Team, Chapel Monitors, Morning Lines presenters, Library Monitors, Sports Team Captains and House Captains in the areas of Community, Sustainability, Creative and Performing Arts, and Sports.
