Add to FavouritesRavenswood is centrally located in Gordon, just a five-minute walk from Gordon railway station and the Bus Interchange. With the school’s facilities located on one campus, interaction across the Year Groups, from Prep to Year 12, is a central part of the school’s identity.
Senior Learning Centre
The Senior Learning Centre was opened to students in 2020 and officially opened in 2021. The state-of-the-art, award-winning structure was designed to complement and reflect the history of Ravenswood’s development, from small cottages to large modern buildings. The building is characterised by a striking lyrical, copper-clad exterior and a light, bright interior accented by jewel-like blue and yellow glass. The senior students love the natural light that floods all the floors, and the innovative study and learning spaces throughout. 'The Senior Learning Centre was shortlisted in the Educational Architecture section of the 2021 NSW Architecture Awards.
Mabel Fidler Building
Opened in 2011, the Award-Winning Mabel Fidler Building is the hub of the school, meeting the diverse needs of the school community by providing spaces for formal and informal learning, staff and student lounges, a cafeteria, dance studios and school reception and administration. The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) for Kindergarten to Year 12 students, is the primary facility and its visibility – right at the main entrance to the school – asserts that learning is our focus.
The Centenary Centre
Our Performing Arts and Music facility is a 362-seat auditorium, with a generous proscenium arch stage, two spacious dressing rooms, control room, box office, large foyer space, an Assembly Hall and a commercial kitchen. The Centenary Centre is capable of staging professional full-scale musicals, plays, conferences and concerts and is used for school performances and events.
Multi-Purpose Sports Complex
A heated swimming pool, gymnasium, Strength and Conditioning Centre, athletics oval and outdoor courts are all located on the campus.
The Petre Innovation Centre
The Petre Innovation Centre comprises eight new science learning spaces including new furniture and equipment (seven laboratories and a separate
microscope laboratory), two new science preparation rooms, student project store and two integrated seminar rooms. All learning spaces provide
convenient access to the SciTech courtyard activating external learning space as an extension to classroom and laboratory based activities.
A new pedestrian link has been completed in accordance with the school’s Master Plan providing a strong and convenient connection between
the Old Girls' Courtyard and the new Petre Innovation Centre courtyard, and an improved East-West pedestrian thoroughfare connecting the Junior
School and Secondary School to the Petre Innovation Centre.
Health Care Unit
A Health Care Unit is located onsite and is staffed with a Registered Nurse from 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday.
