It was fantastic to be reunited with my exchange sister and to meet her family. I loved experiencing a traditional German Christmas!

Year 10 Exchange Student

Participating in the Student Exchange Program can be a life-changing experience and the best way to learn about another culture. Through our four to six week reciprocal exchanges, students experience cultural diversity, develop networks, forge friendships and foster the skills needed to live and work in a global community.

Over many years, Ravenswood has established student exchange arrangements with schools in Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the USA. Year 10 students have the opportunity to apply for exchange to any of these schools, and in the spirit of reciprocity, to host their international ‘sisters’ in Australia. For some students, these exchanges are focused on language acquisition, while for others the focus is cultural, building independence and life skills by living away from home for a period of time.

Ravenswood has reciprocal arrangements with the following nine schools:

Benenden, Kent, England http://www.benenden.kent.sch.uk/

Branksome Hall, Toronto, Canada http://www.branksome.on.ca/

Gymnasium Nieder-Olm, Mainz, Germany http://www.gymno.net/
