Secondary School Play - ‘The Visit’

Tickets are now available for our Secondary School play, ‘The Visit’, a classic satire that explores greed, love and one woman’s plot for revenge. Set in a fictional eastern European town, it focuses on Claire Zachanassian, the richest woman in the world, who returns to the hardship-stricken community of her birth with the promise of financial fortune - but her arrival carries a dreadful price.

‘It is a really mature play for a student cast to tackle,’ Olivia says. ‘It paradoxes love and hate and shows how some people prosper at life and some people don’t. My character has suffered a lot of psychological pain, which makes the audience question whether to like or hate her.’ Olivia devotes around 45 minutes every afternoon to building her understanding of the text and the role. ‘I am working hard to get the emotional pitch right. It is a role that keeps the audience in suspense,’ she says.

‘The Visit’ is showing in Ravenswood’s Carolyn Trotter Studio from Thursday 22 to Saturday 24 March. For tickets go to https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=358774&
