Short Sharp Dance Competition

Year 8 dancers Ella and Emma have been selected for 2017 Short Sharp Dance, a competition for young choreographers. They jointly choreographed the piece Medicine, which they say is inspired by the themes of compassion, love, support and courage. ‘We are passionate about dance and this piece means a lot to both of us,’ the girls said. ‘We tried to show our emotions through the choreography and movement. Medicine was also inspired by the many people in the world who are constantly struggling and overcoming challenges. It challenged our dancing abilities and our abilities to work as a team.’ Both girls have been dancing for nine years and have competed in eisteddfods for seven years. They will perform Medicine in their heat at Riverside Theatre from 14-18 November.
