Ravenswood’s Four Perfect IB Scores

Four Ravenswood students have achieved perfect scores in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, attaining 45 marks out of a possible 45, placing them in the top 1% of IB students in the world. This is the highest number of perfect scores achieved by a Ravenswood cohort since the commencement of the IB Diploma Programme at Ravenswood in 2005. 

The perfect IB scores, which equate to an ATAR range of 99.85 to 99.95, were achieved by Tara Evans, Kayleigh Li, Jasmine Petty and Yuetong (Sunny) Wang.

Further details of Ravenswood’s 2022 IB performance include:

  • The highest score possible, a perfect score of 45, was achieved by four students. Three students also achieved a score of 44 out of 45 and three students achieved a score of 43 out of 45;
  • 40% of the IB cohort achieved a score of 40 or above, which equates to an ATAR of 97.50 or above;
  • The Ravenswood median IB score was 39, which equates to an ATAR range of 96.70 – 97.30. This represents the second-highest median IB score achieved since the inception of the IB Diploma Programme at Ravenswood in 2005;
  • 87% of the IB cohort achieved an ATAR of 90 or above;
  • 73% of the IB cohort achieved a Grade 7 (maximum grade) in one subject or more;
  • 53% of the IB cohort achieved an A grade (maximum grade) in either Theory of Knowledge (TOK) or Extended Essay (EE);
  • Three students achieved an IB Bilingual Diploma, having studied all of their non-language subjects in a second; and
  • Every Ravenswood IB student successfully achieved their Diploma, with scores well above the IB credentialing score of 24.

‘Our IB students, together with our Higher School Certificate (HSC) students, have continued this tradition, applying themselves with dedication, resilience, grit and optimism while valiantly navigating their final three years of schooling with agility and fortitude through a global pandemic,’ said Principal Mrs Anne Johnstone. ‘We are truly inspired by the efforts and achievements of these outstanding young women of character and substance.’

‘The Class of 2022 students (HSC and IB students) have collectively achieved a preliminary median ATAR over 90 – one of our highest combined median ATARs on record’, she said.

‘I am so grateful to our excellent Year 12 teachers, along with our Teaching and Learning Team, Wellbeing Team, Learning Enrichment Team and School Leadership Team, as well as our non-teaching staff, all of whom have supported Year 12 with unswerving commitment, expertise and care,’ said Mrs Johnstone.  

‘I would also like to express our gratitude to the parents and guardians of our Year 12 students for their invaluable support and positive partnership with our School over the course of their daughter’s education’ she said.
